Side effects: The Meningitis B vaccine, Bexsero, may cause mild side effects such as soreness, redness, or swelling at the injection site, fever, tiredness, headache, irritability, or loss of appetite.

Additional precautions: Practise good hygiene, including regular handwashing and avoiding close contact with anyone who is unwell. Make sure your child is vaccinated before travelling or if they are at increased risk of meningococcal infection.

Risks caused by meningitis B: Meningitis B is a serious bacterial infection that can affect the lining of the brain and spinal cord. It can develop quickly and may cause symptoms such as fever, severe headache, vomiting, stiff neck, rash, confusion, or sensitivity to light. In severe cases, it can lead to life-threatening complications.
